You shake your head. There’s really no point, as far as you’re concerned. Instead of struggling with your weird mouth again, you just grab him by the front of his shirt and teleport back to your house. You’ve done enough walking, now you just want to go home.
Both of you rematerialize on the foyer and when the lavender-colored fog dissipates you let go of him. You kick off your shoes and leave them by the door, then stalk off to the kitchen after a slightly vague ‘follow me’ gesture.
You feel your last flicker of hope fizzle out when Slick shakes his head.
He grabs you by the shirt and everything around you suddenly changes. It’s a surprise, you don’t remember Slick being able to teleport. You can’t really bring yourself to ask about it right now. Maybe later, if you remember.
You follow him into the kitchen, take a good look around as you go. “Nice place you got here,” you remark. You figure Slick must have come into some good money while you were in the dark, because it’s much nicer than the old place you shared as a Crew. You take back that thought and lock it away; thinking about it just makes you sad.
